The RCEA is looking for volunteers to sit on the bargaining committees for the AD, AS, CS, OP and PG groups. Members at any locations across Canada are welcome. If you are interested, please contact joan@rcea.ca.  These committees meet to prepare and finalize demands.  These meetings take place over the lunch hour, Eastern Standard Time.  Bargaining teams are selected from these committees. Bargaining normally takes place during working hours.  Please participate.

4 June 2014 – The AD, AS, CS and PG Groups Arbitral Award was issued on June 3, 2014. It is posted here. This award is final and binding. All changes to the various collective agreements are contained in the Award. Because of this, there is no requirement to sign a new collective agreement. NRC has 90 days, from June 3, 2014, to implement the new collective agreement. A summary of the changes will be posted shortly. The arbitration hearing took place on March 17, 2014.  The Board will consider all representations and arguments and will render a written decision.  The RCEA does not know how long this will take.  Once the decision is rendered, it is final and binding.  NRC will then have 90 days to implement the terms of the new agreement. One of the employer’s demands is to eliminate the accumulation of voluntary severance.
