Looking for RCEA member volunteers to be on a joint RCEA/PIPSC/NRC consultation committee for equity, diversity and inclusion

An Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee is dedicated to addressing issues related to discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, physical disabilities, and other contributing factors. A joint consultation committee is being established, consisting of representatives from RCEA, PIPSC and NRC.  At the most recent EDI Committee meeting, the results from the Realizing Identity-Safe Environments (RISE) project were presented. This project fosters mutual respect and creates a more inclusive culture in the workplace and a more “identity safe” workplace culture.  Similar projects attract more women to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), and focuses on promoting positive cultural change in science and engineering through education, respect, fostering support, and understanding how to combat bias. https://successinstem.ca/projects/rise/

Marvin Zaluski is leading these activities and is seeking RCEA members interested in working together with him and the RCEA on the joint EDI Committee. Your commitment would include attending meetings during working hours and  would be time coded to Corporate consultation. Participating in activities to help guide EDI policies for all employees of the NRC.
