When all this began in mid-March, I thought and hoped that by “going home and staying home” as said by the Prime Minister, in two or three months this would all pass. Sadly, this is not the case.
At meetings every week with NRC Senior Management, and from RCEA members, I hear of your diligent on-going work for the betterment of Canada through Covid-related programs, and I know that many members are continuing to work with NRC Clients.
For members working from home, health and safety is key and physically working from home may present ergonomic challenges. If you believe you are having ergonomic challenges, an in-home ergonomic assessment is possible. You may set up an at home ergonomic assessment for your home office to be functional, comfortable and safe. The RCEA Annual General Meeting is Tuesday October 6, 2020, 5PM EST. This will be a virtual / on-line meeting with simultaneous translation. The on-line details and agenda will be posted on the RCEA website. Q&A will be available through the on-line format. An independent RCEA audit, by McCay Duff Auditors, was completed the first week of August. Senior auditor Mario Navas has been invited to speak at the October AGM. The RCEA office at 5300 Canotek Rd is open with a reduced staff until precautions are lifted. Staff will rotate days at the office, but we all continue to work full time either at the office or remotely. As mentioned in the June update, working remotely has not slowed down our work.
