It has come to the RCEA’s attention that the ratification package for the OP group sent on February 16, 2018 and posted on the RCEA website contained an error concerning the terminable allowance for employees in the HVA classification. The terminable allowance is payable effective the date the collective agreement was signed, and not on July 31, 2016.
This later effective date is consistent with what the RCEA and NRC agreed at the bargaining table. It is also consistent with the recent collective agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and Treasury Board for employees in the same classification in the core public administration – namely, that the terminable allowance is payable on the date the collective agreement is signed, instead of the date of the wage restructuring for other classifications.
The RCEA regrets any confusion that this ratification kit may have caused. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the RCEA office at any time.
